Step 1 : taking of the Mill

Step 1- taking of the mill finish is vary importent when polishing stainless. If you do not get this step right you will fight it all the way till the end. So here is what you need to do first. You need to get out all of the micro pit's in the stainless by sanding them out. Grab some red 80' grit (ryhnostick) sandpaper and start sanding it of with a variable speed sander set it on fast. Once you get the surface completely   smooth and pit free you are ready to move on to step 2.

Tomorrow there will be a video on how to do this incorporating step 2 so that you can see exactly how this is done. Here are some picture of stainless at mill finish. Hope this tip has been helpful and see you tomorrow with more.

Good things to have when polishing stainless steel......

Ok, everyone here is a list of the things we use when polishing stainless steel. Lets start from 80' grit and go up from there!
Getting to pre-polish:
Rhynostick- Red: 80'
Rhynostick- Red: 120'
Rhynostick- Red: 220'
Rhynostick- Red: 320'
Pre-polish:
Gold- 320' (add wax)
Rhynostick- 1,000'
Polishing:
Yellow sissall- white ruge
fluff buff- white ruge or purple
(depending on what you are working on)
Clean up:
white diamond-( rubbing compound )

And thats the formula folks ! Now let me say this a-lot of people use different color ruge's to skip on the sanding but I am going to show you how to do it with just white saving you money & time. And giving you a finish that is like no other ! So stay with me all this week and see how. Just to give you a heads up this formula is a trade secret so besure to check in every night for your next tip.  Ok, well hope all is well and we at Blue Diamond Metal want to say thank you and lets have a great week together.

Big day for the boys on the country club today ! These guys are just amazing and always having a good time on the water. Jim Barton & Sean Miller on the country club fishing charters out of Sea Sport marina . Just always put you on the fish ! Today is tuesday

The day is tuesday and it is about 70' down here in south florida. Making it another perfect day. We all are so lucky to live in a state that is like this 75 percent of the year. So I hope everyone liked the T.V. stand. And we are going to have something special tonight agin so be sure to check back in. Ok it the tip of the day. When you are welding stainless steel make sure that you make a jig to hold what ever you are trying to make in place. Stainless steel likes to move when heated more then most metal's so be sure you are ready for that.

Well hope everyone has a great day on this fine tuesday and if you would like to see more of the stuff we do check out our web sites.
